Fiona Lyburn BA (Hons) BSc (Hons) DipPaed LicAc MBAcC

I established Caterham Acupuncture in 2015, and have 17 years of clinical acupuncture experience. Prior to practising in the UK I worked for the local government in Kyoto, Japan and was inspired to study acupuncture after receiving life-changing treatment in Tokyo. In addition to studying at the London College of Acupuncture where I gained a 1st Class Honours Degree. I have undergone postgraduate training at clinics in China and Japan (Fertility). In 2013 I completed a Diploma in Paediatric Acupuncture under leading paediatric acupuncturist Julian Scott.

Before embarking on a career as an acupuncturist, I spent 4 years working for the music industry, pursuing an intense love for music. In 2023 having received several years of benefits of gong/sound baths I brought this love of music and its impact on the body full circle by immersing myself in a sound healing diploma with the phenomenal Siobhan Swider under the umbrella of the Sound Healing Academy receiving full accreditation in July 2024. This now enables me to combine two of my greatest passions: music and healing.

Until his untimely death in 2018, I was mentored by globally renowned and respected acupuncturist and herbalist Giovanni Maciocia, one of the pioneers for bringing acupuncture more into the public eye in the West, and author of over 7 books on Chinese Medicine. I also worked as his research assistant for 10 years both in person and then virtually following his move to Santa Barbara in 2009.

To date, as an acupuncturist I have worked at Neal's Yard (Borough Market)  treating a myriad of musculo-skeletal, women's and men's conditions; as the in-house acupuncturist at the consultancy firm McKinsey, Piccadilly where the wide-variety of conditions were largely stress-based; Lambeth hospital working with addictions and HIV -diagnosed patients and at Hammersmith Hospital where I was part of the IVF specialist team.
