Caterham Acupuncture supports you through your fertility journey in a multitude of ways.
Whether your infertility has a clear diagnosis (low AMH, endometriosis, PCOS, blocked fallopian tubes to name a few), is unexplained, or you are in a same sex relationship choosing assisted conception, having acupuncture in the lead up to your fertility cycle and during the cycle itself has numerous benefits. I work with many women in their 40s, also women using donor eggs/sperm.
Your journey: Embarking on a fertility cycle has psychological and mental-emotional implications: from the impact of the various medications upon the body, to the anxiety that often accompanies each stage of the cycle, to coping with the pure logistics of juggling visits to the fertility clinics alongside your already busy lives. I look at all of this with every patient and tailor acupuncture treatments accordingly whilst providing a safe, beautiful and confidential space where you can come and release everything you are feeling. Sometimes its difficult to open up to friends and family which is where having this space where you can talk as little or as much about what you are going through and receive non-judgmental support may be hugely beneficial.
My experience: My fertility acupuncture journey started 16 years ago when I was part of the IVF team at Hammersmith Hospital. The experience I gained through working alongside the consultants, embryologists, sonographers, nurses and other medical experts was unparalleled, and even though there are continuous developments in western medical protocols for assisted fertility, the knowledge I gained then forms the roots and core of my approach with all my patients today.
Offering treatments 7 days a week if necessary for pre and post embryo transfer treatments (with no additional cost for treatments needed at nights or Sundays) enables me to provide essential continuity of care to you during your cycle.
Clinics that my patients attend include: ARGC, CRGH, Create in Wimbledon, The Lister, London Women’s Clinic/CUH, Zita West as well as clinics abroad.
Acupuncture treatment timing: In the weeks leading up to your fertility cycle or just during it, however I prefer to see you at least once before your start your medicated cycle. I work very closely with any scans and blood results adapting the acupuncture appropriately. Most acupuncture sessions will occur during your stimulation phase, and then once pre and once post transfer.
